With THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS having suspended production during the COVID-19 pandemic, the soap is about to run out of episodes. And while it has broadcast some “Flashback Fridays” recently, the network has announced its plans for the future beginning with a very special week focused on the late Jeanne Cooper (Katherine).
Beginning with the Monday, April 27 episode, Y&R will air a week’s worth of classic shows centered around the iconic Genoa City matriarch Katherine Chancellor. Calling them “Katherine the Great” episodes, CBS is planning to reach back as far as 30 years ago for some vintage hours featuring early performances from popular stars like Eric Braeden (Victor), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Doug Davidson (Paul), and the late Kristoff St. John (Neil).
“It’s incredibly fun to offer fans an opportunity to look back at such memorable moments from Y&R and B&B,” said Amy Reisenbach, Executive Vice President, Current Programs, CBS Entertainment in a statement. “Both of these shows have extraordinary legacies, and these specially curated episodes are only a small portion of what we hope to be able to present in the coming weeks.”
