THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Preparing to Resume Production

Tags:

It looks as though THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS will be resuming production soon, following the lead currently being set by sister soap THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL. Early reports had the soap getting back to work just after the Fourth of July holiday but it appears that didn’t quite happen. But the soap is clearly gearing up to get back to work as Y&R star Eric Braeden (Victor) shared a photo of himself and executive producer Tony Morina on Twitter explaining he was “at CBS for COVID-19 testing!”

B&B went back into production on June 17 but shut down after just one day to adjust their safety protocols and have since returned to work. Both soaps suspended production back in mid-March along with the rest of Hollywood due to the COVID-19 pandemic. B&B and Y&R both ran out of new episodes at the end of April and have been airing classic episodes in various theme weeks to continue keeping their audiences entertained.

Although Hollywood has permission to reopen and restart productions, there are many safety restrictions that have to be put in place, and as B&B has demonstrated, producers are quick to make adjustments in order to ensure the safety of their cast and crew. There has been no official word from Y&R as to when they will actually begin taping again or when new episodes will begin to air, so keep checking back for updates as this story continues to develop.
