What Happened to Daisy on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS
Daisy was on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for a few years, but that was a while ago, so it’s understandable if viewers might need a bit of a refresher on the troubled young woman. Originally introduced in October 2009, the character was played by Yvonne Zima until her exit in June 2012. Although she did resurface for a few weeks in September of that year and she’s still out there somewhere!
Daisy Carter originally went by the last name Thompkins to disguise the fact that she was the daughter of the villainous Sheila Carter and Tom Fisher. She and her brother, Ryder Callahan, worked with their aunt, Sarah Smythe, to get revenge on Lauren Fenmore for killing their mother. Among their many crimes at the time was abducting Lauren and Jana Hawkes. She then found herself attracted to Daniel Romalotti, who was married to Amber Moore. Daisy drugged Daniel and slept with him before leaving town with her brother.
On Halloween, Daisy returned and tracked down Daniel to tell him she was pregnant with his child. Although first arrested and put in jail, Daisy was released into Phyllis Summers‘ custody as she wanted to protect her unborn grandchild. Daisy gave birth on New Year’s Eve with Jana by her side as Daniel helped deliver his daughter by the side of the road. When he wasn’t interested in making a happy family with her, Daisy knocked him out and left her daughter at a church where the infant was sold by a black market baby ring. When Daisy came back to Genoa City months later, it was revealed that the baby Billy and Victoria was raising was her daughter, Lucy. This led to a bitter custody battle as Phyllis fought for her granddaughter.
After finally being released from prison a free woman, Daisy regained custody of Lucy and to protect his daughter, Daniel had his parental rights restored. When he failed in his own attempt to win custody of the girl, Daniel finally proposed to Daisy. Angry that Daniel and his mother continued to reject her, Daisy even walked out on Phyllis while she was suffering a miscarriage. Daisy conned Kevin into believing she was the innocent victim in all of this, but Phyllis tried to have her arrested for not helping her while she was losing her baby. Daisy countered by threatening to reveal that Phyllis had hit Paul and Christine with her car, so they were at a stalemate.
Daisy asked Ricky Williams to help her and Lucy disappear from Genoa City, but when she found out he’d murdered his ex-girlfriend and told D.A. Michael Baldwin, Ricky promised to make her disappear, all right! When everyone suspected foul play, Daniel and Phyllis were the prime suspects and Ricky was able to frame Daniel until the truth about him finally came out.
A few months later, Sharon Newman ran into Daisy as a fellow patient at Fairview. She confessed that after Ricky threatened her, she checked herself into the psychiatric hospital under an alias, Scarlett. When she couldn’t prove her real identity to be released, Daisy overdosed on pills so she would be transferred to the hospital where she could more easily escape. In the end, though, a mysterious woman claiming to be Sheila checked Daisy out of Fairview and while Sheila has since been seen in Los Angeles, Daisy remains at large somewhere in the world.
