Elizabeth Hendrickson Clarifies Her Status at Y&R

Tags:

Waiting for takeoff can sometimes take a while, so when THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) had some time on her hands while waiting to fly to Mexico on vacation with her friends, she used her Instagram stories to urge her fans to ask her anything. Naturally, one of the first questions she answered was what happened to Chloe?

Chloe was last seen on screen on June 1 when she learned that Sally was at risk of preeclampsia and assured her friend that she would take on the stresses of work to help her out. However, aside from the occasional appearance working with Sally, Chloe hasn’t been on nearly as much as in the past and hasn’t had a storyline of her own in ages.

“Very sweet that you miss Chloe,” Hendrickson responded. “Unfortunately, I’m not on contract anymore so they only work me when they write for Chloe. I miss telling stories from Chloe’s point of view. I had a good run, though, and love that I still see my friends a few times a month.”

Of course, some fans misunderstood her response and began fearing that she was no longer on Y&R so she quickly clarified her status. “I guess I’ve confused some of you,” she explained. “I am still on the show! I’m just not under contract which means I work when they write for Chloe. I am not guaranteed a certain number of shows per week or per month.”

Hendrickson made her daytime debut in 2001 when she joined the cast of ALL MY CHILDREN as Frankie Stone for what was originally meant to be a short run ending in a murder mystery. But when the Frankie and Bianca pairing proved extremely popular with fans, the actress was brought back as her twin sister, Maggie.

Her next soap was Y&R, where she began playing Chloe Mitchell back in 2008. After exiting in 2017, she moved back over to ABC in 2018 to play Margaux Dawson on GENERAL HOSPITAL for a year before returning to Genoa City. And having appeared on three different soaps, Hendrickson knows what a great job it is.

“Best part is security, knowing you have a full-time job as an actor,” she confided. “Worst part is that I still feel that there’s a stigma attached. Even though we are the hardest-working actors out there and run circles around some of the best! No one does what we do!”

Hendrickson’s multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations are a testament to her talent, and we can’t wait to see her continue to display it on Y&R in the future. And who knows, perhaps Chloe will find herself in another juicy storyline soon!
