Five Fan Favorites Return to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
We told you that THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS would be pulling out all the stops for its 50th anniversary this year! The soap has just announced a bunch of fan-favorite characters returning to help celebrate beginning in March and some of them haven’t been seen in years!Â
Barbara Crampton will be bringing celebrity journalist Leanna Love back to Genoa City! She debuted on Y&R back in 1987, and following her exit in 1993, returned for another stint from 1998-2002 and then again from 2006-07.Â
Veronica Redd reprises her role of the beloved Mamie Johnson, who was last seen in 2004. The Abbott family’s former housekeeper was originally played by the late Marguerite Ray from 1980-90. Redd took over in 1990 and portrayed the character on and off over the years.
Michael Damian, who recently reprised his Genoa City alter ego of Danny Romalotti in December 2022, will be back for another visit. He originated the role back in 1980, exiting in 1998. He has returned over the years numerous times, and fans should have known his most recent visit wouldn’t be his last!
Patty Weaver will be back as Danny’s sister, Gina Roma. The singer and restauranteur was introduced back in 1982, and following her departure from the canvas in 2009, she popped back for a visit in 2013.
Lastly, Tricia Cast will be returning as Nina Webster for another appearance. After joining Y&R in 1986, she departed the soap in 2001, but continued to make the occasional appearance in the years that followed, her most recent in 2021. She also won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 1994 for her work on the show.
