Imani on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know
Imani Benedict on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS is a new character so it’s understandable if viewers want to know more about her. She debuted in the Dec. 24, 2019 episode of the soap, played by Leigh-Ann Rose, though the actress’ initial appearance was rather brief. Fans might recognize Rose from her roles on LOVE THEY NEIGHBOR, YOUNGER, Baking Christmas, Suburban Swingers Club, or The Finest.
Searching for her biological mother, Amanda Sinclair learned her name was Naya Benedict and went to her home on Christmas Eve with Devon Hamilton as moral support. Amanda had tried to call and give her mom a head’s up about the situation but when unable to get through, gave in and decided to just ring the doorbell. Unfortunately, at that moment, Imani returned home loaded down with Christmas packages and called out for her mom to open the door. Stunned to learn that Naya had a daughter that she hadn’t given up for adoption, Amanda changed her mind and went home.
But after the new year, Amanda was able to reach Naya on the phone and introduced herself as one of the daughters she’d given up for adoption years ago. And it seems that the stunned woman shared the shocking news with her other daughter because Imani showed up at Amanda’s door angrily demanding that the attorney leave her mother alone. And when Amanda refused to back down, Imani tried to take out a restraining order to keep the attorney away from her family! And when Amanda took her grandfather’s case to try to prove Sutton Ames innocent of murder, Imani warned that this would only end badly for her.
When she realized Amanda was not going to drop the case, Imani pled her case in person to warn her that defending their grandfather wasn’t going to help her get back into the family. Once his name was cleared, Sutton — and Naya — would drop Amanda like a hot potato. Unfortunately, Imani’s words fell on deaf ears as Amanda insisted her sister was wrong. However, as the investigation continued, the attorney began to realize that her family was hiding dark secrets and wanted nothing more to do with them.
Imani flirted with Nate Hastings and decided to spend more time in Genoa City. Pressed by Amanda to reveal why Sutton wasn’t telling her the whole truth about her father’s death, Imani admitted she didn’t know and warned her that the man wasn’t to be crossed.
