Jared on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know
That’s Michael Maclane playing Jared on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS having first appeared in the March 5 episode. This is Maclane’s daytime debut, and the young actor has a handful of credits from film and television on his IMDb page including roles in One and the Same, PEOPLE MAGAZINE INVESTIGATES, and MAYHEM, MURDER and MONSTERS. According to his IMDb bio, he grew up in Arizona and attended Scottsdale Community College of Theater Arts to study acting before performing in theater productions and short films. Maclane then moved to Los Angeles at 18 to pursue a career in show business.
Jared first appeared during the ice storm arriving at the clinic with his arm bleeding, claiming he’d cut it on some metal when his grandfather’s store was robbed while they were closing up. Nate Hastings and Elena Dawson treated the young man and urged him to get a tetanus shot at the hospital the following day but Jared just took off.
After the storm had ended, Jared returned to the clinic begging Elena to come help with his grandfather, and she contacted Nate to await the man’s arrival at the hospital. At Crimson Lights with Elena waiting for an update on his grandfather, Jared met Amanda Sinclair and admitted he didn’t go to school and was previously in the foster system. Nate arrived to bring Jared back to his grandfather at the hospital and Elena and Devon were inspired to continue using the clinic to help more people like Jared.
Unfortunately, after Jared’s grandfather died, the young man was at loose ends and got arrested for fighting with his landlord. Amanda and Devon opened up about their own experiences living in foster care and Jared apologized to Nate and Elena for the way he’d acted. He also accepted a job working at the clinic to get back on his feet.
Stay tuned to see how his story continues.
