Get ready for a family reunion when Jason Canela and Eva LaRue return to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! Since Rey is going to be marrying Sharon, it’s only right that his mother and brother attend the ceremony! Since the wedding is going to be held on New Year’s Eve, look for Celeste and Arturo to show up in time for the nuptials with their first appearances being scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 30!
Canela first appeared on Y&R as Arturo Rosales back in February 2018, and the soap soon gave him some family with brother Rey and sister Lola. Things got complicated when Rey’s wife, Mia, came to town, especially since she and Arturo started to reignite their old affair! When Mia’s baby was proven to be Arturo’s, they left Genoa City together to start their family, although Canela reprised his role in August 2019 when his sister married Kyle, so why wouldn’t he come back for Rey’s nuptials?
LaRue — best known to soap fans as ALL MY CHILDREN’s Maria — made her Y&R debut in June 2019, just in time for Lola’s wedding. And while she was only on for a handful of episodes over the summer, LaRue nabbed a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series for her work as Celeste Rosales!
Lola’s time as Mrs. Kyle Abbott didn’t last very long, and given Sharon’s connection to Adam, her union with Rey might meet the same fate. But you’re definitely going to want to RSVP for this very special New Year’s wedding ceremony to see if Sharon and Rey can get 2021 — and their marriage — started off on the right foot!
