Look for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Jessica Collins (ex-Avery) on TV again in the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series ACAPULCO! “So excited to finally share the news!” she exclaimed on Instagram. “Beyond thrilled and honored to be part of this. Can’t wait for you to see what we’re up to here in Mexico. Get ready for some fun, my darlings!”

ACAPULCO is a bilingual comedy series inspired by the 2017 movie How to Be a Latin Lover. Set in 1984, it centers on a young Mexican man played by Enrique Arrizon who gets the job of a lifetime at a hot resort in Acapulco but soon discovers it comes with complications he couldn’t even have imagined. Collins will be playing Diane, the CEO and face of the tropical resort. Also featured is GLEE star Chord Overstreet, who will be playing Diane’s son, Chad.

Collins got her big break playing Dinah in the ABC soap LOVING back in the early ‘90s, and has continued to work in primetime and film up to, during, and after her turn as Avery Bailey Clark on Y&R from 2011-15. The actress has enjoyed recurring roles in series like AMERICAN DREAMS, TRU CALLING, SCOUNDRELS, and IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA as well as guest turns on shows like NIP/TUCK, NCIS, 9-1-1, AND GREY’S ANATOMY. In 2019, she could be found starring in an episode of Netflix’s DOLLY PARTON’S HEARTSTRINGS.

As ACAPULCO has only just begun production, there are no details yet as to when the series will be premiering, but keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for all the latest updates!
