Judith Chapman Directs Another Y&R Alum!
Soap fans know that Judith Chapman is a talented actress from her roles as The Young & The Restless’ Gloria, Days of Our Lives’ Diana, General Hospital’s Ginny, Ryan’s Hope’s Charlotte, and As The World Turns’ Natalie. (Not to mention her countless roles in film, primetime television, and on the stage!) But now she’s flexing some very different muscles, directing two new productions at the Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs, CA!
Chapman is directing the plays Shunned and Sundew, both from writer Larry Parr, which will run on alternating evenings from Wednesday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 13. Shunned focuses on Amish life and the feelings of isolation and exclusion felt by its characters. It stars Janice Lynde, who daytime viewers will remember from her roles as Leslie Brooks on Y&R, Tracy DeWitt on Another World, and Laurel Wolek on One Life to Live.
Sundew tells the story of an eccentric old woman who believes that her property is the actual Garden of Eden, and its themes of ecology and spirituality intertwine nicely with those in Shunned, making the plays an excellent pairing for those who wish to see both.
