Y&R’s Lauralee Bell Pays Beautiful Tribute to Her Late Mother

Tags:

One year ago, on Feb. 25, 2020, the legendary Lee Phillip Bell passed away, and to commemorate her mother’s passing, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Lauralee Bell (Christine) took a very special photo. “My mom left me this special Christian Dior dress that she was photographed in for her work,” the actress explained. “Instead of letting it sit in the closet, I made a fun memory. Today is the one-year anniversary of her passing. Miss you!”

Bell donned the gorgeous floral print Dior gown and had her hair styled in a similar fashion so that she could hold a large yellow flower and strike the same pose that her mother did in the original photo which was shot in 1969. It’s such a beautiful tribute to the legendary television icon and much-missed mother.

Lee Phillip Bell’s career began as a broadcast journalist where she was a pioneer in the daytime talk show format with her own series, THE LEE PHILLIP SHOW for over three decades. Over the years, she interviewed politicians like Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Regan, actors like Judy Garland and Clint Eastwood, and Musicians like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles among many others. But soap fans remember Bell as the wife of the late William J. Bell, who as a team created two of daytime’s most successful dramas, Y&R and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL.

Her daughter’s heartfelt tribute earned a flood of praise from friends and fans alike. “Fabulous!” exclaimed Bell’s Y&R hubby Doug Davidson (Paul). Greg Rikaart (Kevin) simply commented with a pair of heart emojis. Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) declared, “Oh my gosh, so epic. So beautiful. Sending love.” And Melissa Archer (ex-Serena, DAYS OF OUR LIVES; Natalie, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), who recently lost her father, wrote: “Wow! What a beautiful way to celebrate. Stunning.”

Like mother, like daughter. Lovely.
