Mishael Morgan’s Family Suffers a Terrible Tragedy
Earlier this week, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Mishael Morgan (Amanda) and her husband, Navid, received some news that nobody ever wants to hear: His brother, sister-in-law, and their three children were killed when their home caught on fire. Still in shock over the devastating tragedy, Morgan reached out to her followers on Instagram to ask for help — and remind everyone that you never know when something so horrible might hit your own family.
“On Monday morning, my husband’s only brother perished with his wife and three kids in a tragic house fire,” the heartbroken Y&R star wrote, sharing a carousel of photos of the family: her brother-in-law Nazir, his wife Raven, and their beautiful children Alia, Jayden, and Layla. “I am still in absolute disbelief. I literally have no words right now.”
Morgan added that Navid’s sister had organized a GoFundMe, which will help cover the funeral arrangements memorial costs for Nazir and his family. “Please pray for my family and donate if you are able,” Morgan wrote. “Please hold your loved ones tight. Appreciate every moment and remember another day is never guaranteed.”
The GoFundMe fundraiser explains that the March 28 fire happened at 2 a.m. in Brampton, Ontario. (Morgan and her husband are both from Canada.) “Their absence will forever be felt in our lives,” wrote Navid’s sister, Bismah. “Our three little angels were their grandparents’ pride and joy. Their smiles would light up the room as their curiosity usually got the best of them. As a family, we are devastated to lose two generations in a blink of an eye. Our homes are broken as we mourn a loss that we can never replace.”
According to a news report, the fire had raged inside the home for several hours, and Raven’s father, Louie Felipa, suspected that the smoke alarms inside the house weren’t working. “My aim today is to make sure people know how important it is to have a smoke alarm,” Felipa told reporters. “This pain, I don’t want anyone to go through it.” Another report stated that Raven’s mother was able to get out of the home on her own and was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Concluding her heartbreaking post, Morgan ended with several white heart emojis and wrote, “Rest in paradise, Nazir, Raven, Alia, Jayden, and Layla. Spread your wings, beautiful angels.”
