Y&R Alum Rachel Kimsey Is Expecting Her Third Child!

Please join us in congratulating THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Rachel Kimsey (ex-Mac), who is pregnant with her third child! “Nearing the end of this journey,” she shared with a doctor’s office selfie. “A few more weeks to go and so much more to do before this little dude arrives.”

It sounds as though Kimsey and husband Matthew Waterson are expecting a baby boy this time around, which will make a nice change of pace because their previous two children were both girls, first Everly and then Sutton. In fact, Sutton was born in 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, so this pregnancy has been a bit of an adjustment.

“A Pandemic Pregnancy has been as unusual as a COVID baby’s first year,” Kimsey admitted. “I feel lucky that it wasn’t my first so even though I knew what we were missing that we might have missed it anyway because — two toddlers. My partner has only been able to attend one prenatal appointment with me, but we’re still lucky that in California at least he’ll be able to be present with me at the birth, something not guaranteed in other places.”

From her selfie, you can see that Kimsey is double-masked for extra protection and she urged other mothers-to-be to help protect themselves and their babies. “Please, pregnant people, get vaccinated,” she declared. “For you and for the immunity it conveys to your baby at birth and through breastfeeding, if that’s available to you. Let’s all do what we can to take care of each other. Let’s move together out of this chapter in history.”

Y&R fans remember Kimsey from when she played Mackenzie Browning from 2005-06, and DAYS OF OUR LIVES viewers might recall her stint as Meredith Hudson in 2009. More recently, Kimsey has been doing a lot of voice work, playing Wonder Woman in multiple animated series and movies.
