Sharon Case Says Goodbye to Y&R Daughter Alyvia Alyn Lind
After the April 7 episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS aired, Sharon Case (Sharon) took to social media to share a few photos of herself with Alyvia Alyn Lind playing her TV daughter, Faith, to mark the sad occasion. “It is a bittersweet day,” the actress admitted. “Our baby girl, Alyvia’s final air show as Faith Newman. Aly, we wish you well with your new endeavors and of course, we will love and miss you always!”
Lind made her debut as Nick and Sharon’s little girl back in 2011, so both fans and her co-stars have watched her grow up on screen before their eyes. “Thank you for being the best TV mama my whole life!” the teen replied. “I love you so, so much!”
Touched by Lind’s response, Case shared a snap of old photos pinned to a bulletin board along with a paper heart that reads: “To Sharon, Love Aly, The Best TV Mom Ever!” “Aww!” Case exclaimed. “This is still pinned to the board in my room, from many years ago. It always will be.”
In 2013, Lind was recast with Mckenna Grace due to scheduling conflicts, but returned to the role in the spring of 2014. Grace continued to fill in occasionally until 2015 at which point Lind reclaimed her role. Unfortunately, with Lind’s new starring role in the Syfy Channel series CHUCKY, the role of Faith is once again being recast, this time with Reylynn Caster.
Perhaps one day, Lind will once again return to Y&R to play Faith again. But for now, the April 7 episode was the last viewers will see of her and Caster will assume the role on Monday, April 12 to continue telling Faith’s story. So keep watching to see what happens next!
