Y&R’s Shemar Moore Mourns the Death of His Mother, Marilyn

Tags:

Please join us in sending love to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm) who is mourning the death of his mother. “Marilyn Joan Wilson-Moore, my mother, best friend, and partner in crime passed away Feb. 8 at 76 years old,” he shared on Instagram. “I miss her more than I ever thought possible and I don’t know how to do this life without her. But I get my strength from her and I will be okay because of her.”

In a series of emotional videos he posted, Moore admitted he’d been offline since his mother’s passing and opened up about the crushing loss. “I don’t know life without this woman,” he admitted. “I don’t know what to do but I will figure it out because that’s what she would want. But everything I am, everything I’ve accomplished, is because of this amazing woman. My mother is gone. She ain’t here no more. But she’s here. I’ve been quiet because I’ve been crying a lot. I’ve been yelling and screaming. Our journey was already great, but we had plans. We were almost there. She was tired. She had heart issues, she had MS as you know.”

As the clips continue, Moore assures fans that he’s hurting but he’s going to be okay because that’s how his mother raised him. “I’m gonna miss my momma for the rest of my life,” he declared. “I love you guys. I love how you supported my mom. I love how you support me. My heart is broken. But we gonna party because my momma loved to party. So cry your tears, if you will, I appreciate it, and then let’s have a party for the greatest woman I’ve ever known.”

Moore also shared a pair of videos featuring photos of him and his mother throughout the years set to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.” Make sure to swipe through to see them both.

Our thoughts are with Moore and his entire family during this difficult time. For more on your favorite Y&R stars — past and present — keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
