Thad Luckinbill Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!

Tags:

When a character’s name is mentioned on a soap, it’s a pretty good bet that they’re going to be coming back. And after all the talk about J.T., Thad Luckinbill is, in fact, returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for a visit!

Audra has been pressing Elena to contact J.T. Hellstrom and bring him back to Genoa City to be on her medical podcast in the hopes of causing drama for his ex, Victoria. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that he will be coming to town. In their latest issue, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Luckinbill will be making an appearance in the Tuesday, May 2, episode when Elena contacts J.T. by video call.

Luckinbill originated the role of J.T. back in August 1999 and played the character on a recurring basis until he signed a contract with the soap in 2002. After leaving in November 2010, he returned for brief stints, first in December 2017 and then again in March 2019.

Outside of daytime, Luckinbill has found success in primetime series like NIKITA, GREY’S ANATOMY, and CRIMINAL MINDS as well as films like Matchmaker Santa, Broken, Only the Brave, and 12 Strong. His most recent role was in the 2022 film Devotion with Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell.

Now, whether Luckinbill makes further appearances and actually interacts with other characters in person depends on whether or not J.T. accepts Elena’s invitation to journey to Genoa City to appear on her podcast. So stay tuned to Y&R to see what happens next!
