Will Fen Return to Y&R Again? — Zach Tinker Speaks Out

When THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS celebrated Tracey E. Bregman’s 40th anniversary playing Lauren, they invited Zach Tinker to reprise his role of Fenmore Baldwin for the special episode. And although he’s been keeping pretty busy playing Sonny Kiriakis over on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, the actor was more than happy to make a quick trip over to Genoa City.

“I love everyone at Y&R,” Tinker told Soap Opera Digest. “The cast and crew are a wonderful group, so any opportunity to go and play with them for a day was music to my ears.”

And not only was it fun for Tinker to catch up with castmates like Bregman and Christian LeBlanc (Michael), it barely felt like work at all. “Since I was just coming back to do one episode, I didn’t have the pressure of doing a crazy storyline or performing a monologue,” he confided. “It was kind of an excuse just to hang out with them. In fact, it’s stupid that I got paid for it. We also got free tacos for lunch so it was an all-around fantastic day.”

And Tinker wasn’t the only actor who traveled from Salem to Genoa City for the day — Greg Rikaart, who plays Leo on DAYS, was putting in another appearance on Y&R as Kevin. “It’s funny how Greg plays my uncle on this show, but my ex-husband on the other,” he mused with a laugh.

Although Fen had been struggling with drug addiction, this visit he was in a much better place, and even had a new love in his life — his boyfriend, Trey, who finally got to meet the family. And while this particular visit was just for the one episode, Tinker is always up for more. “If they want me,” he declared, “I’d love to come back.”
