Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan Introduces Her Adorable New Puppy!
Several months after Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, The Young & The Restless) said goodbye to her beloved dog, Sophia, the actress and her family decided that they were ready to welcome a new furry friend into their home!
On a recent visit to the Wagmore Pets Dog Rescue, Egan and her husband, Matt Katrosar, fell in love with the most adorable furball. “Meet Bailey Katrosar!” the actress enthused on Instagram, introducing Bailey to her followers. “We are insane for rescuing a puppy while having a baby and a toddler, but we love her and here we are! Thank you to Wagmor Pets and Melissa [Bacelar, founder] for all you do and helping us adopt this sweet girl over the summer.”
The Daytime Emmy nominee confessed that she wasn’t fully prepared to bring a puppy into her home just yet, especially since her boys, Caden, 3, and Jake, 1, are still so young. “Life being hectic right now and still mourning our Sophia I did not think we were ready, but when are you ever ready amiright?!” quipped the Y&R star.
Heck, they weren’t even planning to adopt Bailey — who very much resembles the actress’ late pooch — the day they went to the rescue shelter! “We went to Wagmore to see another dog that needed a home, we weren’t looking for a Sophia clone, but by the time we got there, he had been adopted,” Egan explained.
But Bailey, it seemed, had sniffed out her furever home the moment she spotted the Katrosars. “Then this sweet girl came up to us when we went into the room of pups,” Egan continued. “She looked so much like Soph, and we felt she sent her to us. Welcome to the family, Bailey!”
Some things are just meant to be! We are sure that Egan and her family will give Bailey a wonderful life, and we look forward to seeing lots of pictures of the puppy with her human brothers in the future!
