Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan is Expecting Baby #2!
There is another baby on the way for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) and her husband, Matt Katrosar! The couple announced in a joint Instagram post that Egan is pregnant with their second child!
The Y&R star is positively glowing in the photo that accompanied the pregnancy announcement as she hugged her son, Caden, with one hand and cradled her baby bump with the other. Based on Egan’s caption, she is due in six months — around the time that Caden will celebrate his second birthday — and is having another boy!
“Looks like we’re just destined to have August babies!” the actress wrote. “So grateful and excited to be adding another cub to our family of Leo baby boys😄🦁 Caden’s gonna be a big brother! 💙”
Following Egan’s exciting announcement, Y&R co-stars like Lauralee Bell (Christine), Greg Rikaart (Kevin), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe), and Courtney Hope (Sally) jumped in to congratulate their friend. “I really wanted to be the one to break the news but hugely excited for you all regardless,” joked Rikaart.
The actress also received a public congratulations from one of her ALL MY CHILDREN besties, Alicia Minshew, who played Kendall to Egan’s Annie. “Yesss, so great that you can tell the world now! We are thrilled for you! You look so gorgeous and Caden is ridiculous!”
Egan and Katrosar, a television ad sales executive, were married on July 26, 2014, and welcomed their son, Caden Robert, on Aug. 21, 2021, after two heartbreaking miscarriages and fertility issues. “It’s everything they said it would be,” the actress gushed about being a first-time mom several months after her son was born. “Of course, it’s exhausting and I’m definitely tired, but it’s so worth it. I can’t wait to get home to see him. It still feels so surreal that he’s ours. He’s a really good boy and we’re so grateful for him.”
