Halloween may be approaching, but it will be a little while longer before you can see daytime alum Zach Tinker starring in the indie horror movie Beneath the Light! Deadline is reporting that the film is set to begin filming in Ohio under a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement (required for non-studio productions to shoot during the ongoing strike). “Spooky season!” the actor announced as he shared the good news on social media.
Beneath the Light is based on an online mystery game and its novelization and also stars John Pyper-Ferguson, Anna Nicolle Chavez, and Darryl Lewis. John Baumgartner is directing and co-wrote the script with Cindy Seng.
In the film, Tinker plays a troubled young man who takes a job at an abandoned lighthouse, hoping to reconnect with the daughter of the building’s current owner. Isolated and trapped with no way back to shore, he experiences terrifying encounters that make him question his sense of reality and confront missing memories from his past.
Tinker made his daytime debut back in 2018 when he joined the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Fenmore Baldwin and earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2019. After his exit in 2020, he popped back for a brief quest appearance in 2023. He then went on to take over the role of Sonny Kiriakis in DAYS OF OUR LIVES: BEYOND SALEM and Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas in 2021, also appearing on DAYS proper starting in 2022.
The actor has also appeared in primetime series like NCIS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, STATION 19, WHY WOMEN KILL, and CSI: VEGAS. He is currently playing Collin O’Reilly in the CBS drama FIRE COUNTRY.
