Zuleyka Silver Opens up About Joining the Cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS
It won’t be until Friday, Sept. 23, that Zuleyka Silver makes her debut as Audra Charles on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS but she started filming back in the middle of August, well before the news of her casting broke. “So excited and grateful to join the cast of Y&R,” she shared on Instagram when her new gig was officially announced, adding an amazed: “Excuse me, what?!”
In the end, it was Silver’s talent that landed her the role of the high-powered executive, but the actress thanked everyone who had a hand in making this dream come true. “Thank you to CBS for always embracing me and to the producer for trusting me to be on this legendary show,” she said. “Thanks to my team, A3 Artists Agency, especially Todd Eisner and my manager, Crystal Salazar, for all your hard work.
“Also, thanks to my coach, Jeff Witzke, for helping me prepare for the chemistry test and the role,” Silver continued. “Last, but not least, my amazing boyfriend, Nate Peterson, for reading with me for this audition and always reading with me during all hours for what seemed like endless self-tapes.”
Silver has an episode of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL on her resume where she played a model, but the actress may be more recognizable to viewers from her appearances in primetime shows like CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, THE MENTALIST, HAWAII 5-0, CODE BLACK, and YOUNG SHELDON.
She shared a quick Instagram video celebrating the completion of her first week at Y&R on Aug. 19, and is eager to make her debut in Genoa City. “This has been an amazing ride thus far,” she enthused. “And I can’t wait for you all to meet Audra Charles!”
