THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Don Diamont knows his alter ego, Bill, can be crass, cocky, impudent and arrogant, but does he make you laugh? If so, then the actor is confident he’s doing his job right.
“I recently got a text from my cousin saying that a friend of hers on Facebook told her she laughed-out-loud at my scene,” he says. “I think that’s why audiences love Bill. He’s entertaining, he’s fun, and he brings everybody in on the joke. He’s very multi-dimensional in that way.” Diamont recently chatted with Soaps In Depth about how humor is the most important component of his character, and why it makes him immune, in many ways, from being boxed into storyline corners a fate that can sometimes befall other daytime villains.
“Bill just really has fun messing with people,” the actor says with a chuckle. “I see him as a sort of pirate, but the pirate that people love. He’s an antihero.”
