The Characters GENERAL HOSPITAL Need to Bring Back

We know that a common complaint right now is that Port Charles is a little overcrowded, but there are still some characters GENERAL HOSPITAL really should consider bringing back. Some because there is so much potential story to tell with them and others just because we miss them so much!

Now, to be fair, we didn’t include beloved legacy characters like Luke Spencer and Tracy Quartermaine because as much as we would love to see them again, we respect Anthony Geary and Jane Elliot’s decisions to retire from show business. And some deceased characters like Alan Quartermaine are off-limits because we have accepted that they are gone for good.

Laura Spencer

Poor Kevin must be missing his wife as much as we do! Laura was running for mayor of Port Charles when she had to jet off to take care of Spencer, and while that job has been filled, there's certainly a lot that she can still do in town. (For instance, she could steer Alexis away from digging up too much about Mikkos Cassadine's past before it causes trouble!)

The hospital is in dire need of a good schemer to walk the halls and stir up trouble. Nelle's good, but she's pretty much focused just on Carly. Also, she's starting to look a little unredeemable, which was never a problem for Britt, who even at her worst was still a character we loved to hate!

Nikolas Cassadine

We don't believe for a hot second that Nikolas is really dead, so just bring the guy back already. Valentin needs some competition for the Cassadine throne, after all! And while Tyler Christopher is unfortunately busy playing Stefan over on NBC's DAYS OF OUR LIVES, why not hire his temporary replacement, Nick Stabile, who did a fine job taking over the role?

Nathan West

Yeah, yeah, we know — he's dead as a doornail. But we miss him so much! Plus, Port Charles needs a good-hearted hero like him to offset all the bad guys lurking around. So while it would completely undermine the brilliant episodes surrounding his death, we'd give anything to have the writers figure out a reasonable way to bring him back to life!

Spencer Cassadine

Nicolas Bechtel is just a delight and we love whenever Spencer makes his annual summer visits. Plus, he could easily come back to town with grandma Laura now that he's feeling better, and then when Nikolas turns up alive, that'll give the kid plenty to do!

Lucky Spencer

The Spencer family used to be quite a force in Port Charles, but there's hardly anyone left, which is why Lulu could really use her brother, Lucky, back in her life. And even though Lucky and Liz agreed they weren't meant to be together, his return could throw a potential monkey wrench into her relationship with Franco if those old feelings resurfaced!

Hayden Barnes

This would be the perfect time for Hayden to come back and turn Finn's life upside down! She dumped him while carrying his baby and claimed to have lost it, but that was all a lie. So if she came strolling back into town with Finn's child now that he's settling into a relationship with Anna, the drama would be explosive!

Yeah, so she's dead — so what? Cassadines are always coming back from beyond the grave, sometimes more than once! And with Alexis investigating her Cassadine past, what better time for the ultimate villain to make an appearance?

Frisco Jones

The last time Frisco visited Port Charles, things were super awkward between him and Felicia as well as him and Maxie. But it was such a quick appearance there wasn't enough time to explore that drama in depth. Bringing Frisco back properly could even allow for some healing, given enough time.

Brenda Barrett

Yeah, Sonny has enough to deal with right now with Carly being tormented by Nelle, but once that settles down and the schemer is brought to justice, why not have Brenda pop back into his life? Just as he and Carly are settling down again, Brenda could throw a monkey wrench into the works! Fun!
