It’s never fun when soap writers kill off our favorite characters when actors leave the show — fortunately, we take comfort in the fact that some soap characters don’t really die. There’s always hope of seeing their glorious return! We’ve seen them come back as visions and ghosts several times, but it’s never as rewarding as seeing them be brought back from the dead!

She was shot and killed by Luke, but later on it was revealed that she came back to life because of a miracle formula.

Mitch Laurence from OLTL (Roscoe Born)
Mitch was presumed dead after receiving a blow to the back of his head by Dorian Lord, but it was later revealed that he didn’t really die. Dr. Balsom only made it appear like he passed away.

Jesse died from a fatal shot in his torso while going after a criminal, but after continuing to appear on the show as a spirit to others, he took a reprieve from Heaven and returned as a living human.

Todd (played by Roger Howarth) was presumed dead after he disappeared, but then his identical twin brother, Victor Lord (played by Trevor St. John), returned and assumed Todd’s identity. Years later, it was finally revealed that the real Todd (Roger) was alive and being held hostage by Irene Manning.

He was presumed dead after getting hit by a car, but it was later revealed that he was actually alive and living on Cassadine Island. He was rescued by Lucky, Luke, and Laura.
Cady Mcclain All My Children
Dixie Cooney from AMC (Cady McClain)
Dixie was declared dead after losing control of her car and driving it over a cliff, but it was ultimately revealed that Dixie survived the accident. Years later, Dixie again perished after eating poisoned pancakes, but thankfully was resurrected once more by the new AMC writers.

Carlos Rivera from GH (Jeffrey Vincent Parise)
Carlos was presumed dead after Anna Devane shot him multiple times, but it was later revealed that he didn’t really die when he showed up at Sabrina's apartment alive weeks later.
Kimberly Mccullough General Hospital
Robin Scorpio from GH (Kimberly McCullough)
Robin was killed off after Kimberly decided to leave the show. However, the writers decided to rewrite her story and have her resurrected because they didn't like the idea of her being completely dead.

He was presumed dead after he fell into a bottomless pit, but years later it was revealed that Helena saved him and he survived.
