Cameron Mathison Enjoys an Incredible Getaway — See the Pics!

As Drew prepares to spend some time in Pentonville on GENERAL HOSPITAL, portrayer Cameron Mathison enjoyed an actual vacation taking some time off to enjoy Joffre Lakes Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. “There’s no Wi-Fi in the forest,” Mathison joked, “but I promise you’ll find a better connection.”

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park features hiking, mountain climbing, camping, and fishing as well as swimming in three glacier-fed lakes. The rock flour in the water reflects blue and green waves and gives the lakes a turquoise color. The park actually became so popular that BC Parks shut it down in 2020 because it was becoming degraded. It reopened in 2021, limiting the number of guests by requiring day passes to enter.

Mathison’s co-stars past and present were just as impressed by his vacation pics as the fans were. “Wow,” marveled Tanisha Harper (Jordan, GH). “Stunning.” And Cassandra James (Terry, GH) gave a shout-out to “Beautiful British Columbia!” 

Even some of Mathison’s friends from ALL MY CHILDREN, where he played Ryan Lavery, expressed their amazement at the gorgeous scenery. “Cam! Cam!” declared Rebecca Budig (Greenlee; ex-Hayden, GH). “This looks insane!” And Alicia Minshew (Kendall, AMC) wrote: “Wow! This could very well be the most beautiful park I have ever seen. Enjoy, sweet Cam.”

    The recommended hiking season at Joffre Lakes Provincial Park is from June to September.
