Finola Hughes Mourns the Loss of Her Beloved Dog, Ziggy
Please join us in sending love to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Finola Hughes (Anna) and her family who are mourning the death of their beloved dog Ziggy. “We had to let you go this morning, Ziggy Tank,” Hughes shared on Instagram. “God, you were a great doggy. Thank you for being such a love for my children. You followed us everywhere. Godspeed, Ziggs. We love you.”
Hughes’s son, Cash, ran a separate Instagram account dedicated to the family dogs where he expressed his own grief over the loss. “Rest in Peace to my best friend,” he wrote. “Ziggy had to be let go. Ziggy blessed my life in so many ways. She is and will always be my favorite. Every time I got home from school and was sad she would be there. So many good times we had, and truly my best friend. Gone, but never forgotten. I love you, Ziggy.” Hughes assured her son: “She was a sweet lovely girl who just followed right at your heels. She loved you as much as you loved her.”
The Instagram comments were flooded with love and condolences from fans and friends, including some of her GH co-stars like BFF Michelle Stafford (ex-Nina, now Phyllis, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, Laura Wright (Carly), Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix), and Kelly Thiebaud (Britt). “Oh Finola, I’m so, so sorry,” wrote Tamara Braun (ex-Kim, now Ava, DAYS OF OUR LIVES). “I remember us talking about our fur babies and the deep love we have for them. Sending you so much love.”
