Josh Swickard and His Wife Share a Backstage Peek at Their “Exciting” New Holiday Movie!

Make yourselves a tune-in alert, GENERAL HOSPITAL fans! Josh Swickard (Chase) and his real-life wife, Lauren, are starring together in A California Christmas, a new romantic comedy premiering next week!

“Monday, December 14, the movie that Lauren and I did together — round 2! — is coming out on Netflix,” the GH star shared on Instagram. (They couple previously starred together in Roped, the movie on which they met back in 2017.) “It’s so exciting. Lauren wrote it. She’s an absolute boss in it. And I got to be a part of it.”

In the sweet romantic comedy, Swickard stars as Joseph, a charming executive whose big promotion is on the line unless he can convince Lauren’s Callie to sell her family’s farmland before Christmas. Will Joseph get the job done in convincing Callie to sign the deal, or will posing as a ranch hand lead him to find that there’s been something missing from his life?

Not only did Mrs. Swickard write the script for A California Christmas, but she produced and starred in the movie as well. “This fulfilled a dream I’ve had in my heart for years,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to my husband for sitting with me through quarantine as I wrote this script. For the hours and hours of, ‘Babe! Does this work?’ ‘Am I good enough’ — I love you, Josh.”

A California Christmas was filmed in July, one of the first productions to film after the COVID lockdown. The cast and crew met all COVID requirements on set, and since they are married and had been isolating together, the Swickards were able to film together without any restrictions.

“Please watch it,” Swickard requested of his fans. “Check it out. Let me know what you think.”
