Kate Mansi’s Amazing African Vacation — See the Pics!

Since soap operas typically take a lengthy production break during the summer months, it’s a perfect time for the actors who work on those daytime dramas to escape to a far-flung destination and add another stamp to their passport.

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kate Mansi (Kristina) took advantage of the weeks that the soap goes dark during the month of July to head to Africa with her boyfriend, producer Matt McInnis. The trip was part work and part play for the couple since McInnis was working on an upcoming project while they were in the country. During his days off, however, he and the GH star took in plenty of sights in Cape Town and went on an amazing safari tour!

    Mansi soaked in the amazing stars of the African night sky.

    The actress shared some memorabilia from McInnis’ film shoot, including the back canvas piece from the director’s chair featuring his name, the production’s director’s slate, a framed photo, and a thank you note.

    Mansi took in the landscape of Cape Town, including the famed Table Mountain, one of the area’s most popular landmarks.

    “All the way up,” McInnis said of the couple’s trip to the top of Table Mountain. Presumably, he and Mansi took one of the city’s cable cars to the summit. “Anywhere with you, McInnis,” she wrote on her beau’s post. “Even a cable car.”

    One of the world’s most famous mountains, Table Mountain, as its name implies, resembles a flat tabletop and offers a stunning view of the coastal city below.

    The couple snuggled up as they headed out on an amazing safari tour.

    Zebras and antelope were just a few of the majestic creatures that Mansi and McInnis saw roaming on the African plains.

    A beautiful, tusked elephant was another animal that the couple got to see up close. But hopefully not too close!
