All My Children Stars Reunite on Strahan & Sara

Viewers haven’t been able to visit Pine Valley since 2013, but some beloved residents were back on TV when stars from ALL MY CHILDREN reunited for special segment of STRAHAN & SARA, the third hour of GOOD MORNING AMERICA (previously known as GMA DAY)! On Feb. 11, hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines welcomed Susan Lucci (Erica), Jacob Young (JR), Cady McClain (Dixie), Walt Willey (Jack), and Jill Larson (Opal). to reminisce about their days on the soap.

The actors were obviously all thrilled to see each other again, and the hosts brought up Lucci’s recent heart attack scare that thankfully she has fully recovered from. To then lighten the mood, Haines challenged the actress to name all of Erica’s many husbands! “Oh, let me see,” Lucci mused. “Erica Kane Martin Brent Cudahy Chandler Roy Roy Montgomery Montgomery Marrick… this gets dicey towards the end. Marick Marick, there’s another Montgomery and then there was gonna be another Montgomery!”

The former daytime stars all filled their fans in on what they were up to now, and in the end, Strahan and Haines brought out some of their crew members, who had also worked on AMC back in the day, and everyone was reunited!

Then they had the actors recreate two memorable scenes from AMC. First up was Lucci and Willey performing Erica telling Jackson she wants to be with him but doesn’t want to rush into a wedding. After he walks off, things take an unexpected turn as the stars give the fans the ending to the scene they’d always wanted. Then McClain and Young re-enacted Dixie dying in JR’s arms, although they weren’t quite able to keep straight faces during the scene!

The last time the stars of AMC reunited was back in February of 2017 when a bevy of actors from the ABC soap’s storied history appeared on Hallmark Channel’s HOME AND FAMILY to reminisce about the much-missed daytime drama. And in October, 2018, Lucci and Eva LaRue (Maria) joined their former co-star, Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Ryan Seacrest to appear in a “reboot” spoof for the Halloween episode of LIVE WITH KELLY AND RYAN.
