Catch Up With Veteran Soap Actress Louise Shaffer

Here’s an opportunity to catch up with actress and author Louise Shaffer when she joins host Alan Locher in The Locher Room for an in-depth interview on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. ET.

Shaffer has appeared on numerous soap operas during her career, including SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, HIDDEN FACES, and WHERE THE HEART IS. During her 1975-76 run on THE EDGE OF NIGHT, she played Serena Faraday, whose split personality, Josie, was revealed during her murder trial. From 1977-84, the actress took on the role of Rae Woodard on RYAN’S HOPE, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations and taking home the trophy in 1983. In 1984, Shaffer rejoined the cast of SEARCH FOR TOMORROW in a new role. In 1987, she appeared on ALL MY CHILDREN as Erica’s evil stepmother, Goldie Kane.

As a writer, Shaffer has also helped pen soaps like RYAN’S HOPE, LOVING, AS THE WORLD TURNS, and ALL MY CHILDREN. Eventually, she wrote her first novel, The Three Miss Margarets, which was published by Random House. She followed that with the books The Ladies of Garrison Gardens, Family Acts, Serendipity, and Looking for a Love Story. Between the acting and the writing, Shaffer will have plenty to talk about, so don’t miss it!
