Christopher’s Primetime Show A Go!
It’s official: GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) has a role on a new primetime series! ABC Family announced today that it has picked up THE LYING GAME, based on the recently-released novel by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard. (That series, of course, was the basis for the network’s wildly popular teen drama of the same name.) Former GH headwriter Charles Pratt, Jr., is the writer/executive producer of the series, which taped its pilot back in December in New Mexico.
Christopher will play the recurring role of Detective Matthews in THE LYING GAME, which will star Alexandra Chando (Maddie, AS THE WORLD TURNS) as twin sisters separated at birth. Sutton was raised by a rich family while Emma was bounced around the foster system. After their initial meeting, Sutton talks Emma into switching places for a few days while she pursues a lead on their birth mother. But when Sutton fails to return to their meeting place, Emma must decide whether to come clean about her true identity, or risk her own safety while trying to find her missing sister and uncover the truth about why they were split apart in the first place.
Will Christopher leave behind GH to take on the new role? “I have to see how involved I’m going to be on both [shows],” he tells Soaps In Depth. “Maybe there’s an opportunity, since they’re both on ABC networks, to do both.”
