Co-Stars Say Good-bye To Anthony Geary
Yesterday, Anthony Geary taped his final scenes as GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Luke Spencer, a role he’s played for 37 years. After the iconic star walked out of the ABC studio for the last time (following a farewell party on the set), his colleagues took to social media to share their praise and adoration for the Emmy winner. (His final episode will air in late July.)
“To the legend Tony Geary,” Maurice Benard (Sonny) shared on Twitter. “Not just a great actor, but a great guy and I’m proud to call him my friend.” Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) simply stated, “Tony Geary = MAGIC. That is all.”
Sharing a photo on Instagram, Vinessa Antoine (Jordan) wrote that “Some of my very first scenes were with Tony Geary. He was so beautiful. Artist. Gentleman. Will miss him.” TV nephew Ryan Carnes (Lucas) called him a “living legend,” while Kathleen Gati (Obrecht) shared that “It was a very moving farewell to a soap opera legend! I’ll always remember my start on GH with Tony Geary fondly!”
