Franco Has A Date With The Oscars!
ABC has announced that James Franco (ex-Franco, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Anne Hathaway will co-host the 83rd Academy Awards Oscars telecast on Sunday, February 24, 2011. Both actors have previously appeared on the telecast, but not in hosting capacities. “James and Anne personify the next generation of Hollywood icons — fresh, exciting and multi-talented,” said producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer in a statement. “We hope to create an Oscars broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world. We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that.”
Franco’s latest film is 127 Hours, the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston, who became trapped by a boulder in Utah for more than 5 days. Hathaway, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for her lead performance in Rachel Getting Married, can be seen in the romantic comedy Love And Other Drugs.
