Can Lucas and Brad’s Marriage Be Saved? — Ryan Carnes and Parry Shen Speak Out (EXCLUSIVE)
Since bringing Wiley home last summer, GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Brad hasn’t stopped lying to Lucas about their baby — who is, of course, actually Michael and Nelle’s son, Jonah. Brad has also been juggling “birth mom” Willow and colluding with Julian for months… and now, Shiloh believes that he has a son out there!
After all Brad’s done to cover up this baby swap, Jonah’s true identity may end up being his saving grace now that Shiloh’s involved. But whether the truth comes out or the cult leader gets his hands on “his” baby, “This has the potential to get really ugly,” sighed Ryan Carnes (Lucas), who’s not sure the new dads’ marriage can survive Brad’s latest machinations. “How patient can Lucas really be with Brad? This has been going on for a while! Brad’s made a lot of mistakes and been given a lot of passes — but this is a fairly big mistake, no?”

That said, Carnes can’t help rooting for the couple and even sees a way out for Brad. “The argument could be made that Bobbie kind of did the same thing with Lucas,” he reminded us, adding that Brad also believes his lie will protect the baby from the dangers of the Corinthos family’s Mob life. “Adults make mistakes, and if this is better for everyone, then what’s so bad about it?”
To be fair, Brad also wasn’t looking for trouble when Nelle handed him her baby that fateful night. “This situation wasn’t premeditated,” Parry Shen said in defense of his character. But he also conceded that that may not matter anymore. “There’s just no way continuing on with this lie is going to make anything better.”
However this shakes out, grinned Carnes, “I’m looking forward to seeing the house of cards come down!”
