GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Finola Hughes Is “So Grateful” to Be Able to Go Home After Devastating Wildfires

Although GENERAL HOSPITAL star Finola Hughes (Anna) was able to return home following the terrible wildfires that swept through Southern California in early December, things are not exactly back to normal, at least not yet. The actress shared some photos of her belongings all packed up. “House right now,” she wrote. “Everything we own boxed up, bagged, shipped off to a cleaning fairyland. Entire house had to be gutted through smoke damage. At least we have a house. Many people do not. So grateful. #onwards #thistooshallpass #nobiggy #nosocks #thomasfire #2018”

Hughes’ on-screen daughter, Kimberly McCullough (Robin) and her own family were also evacuated from their home in Ojai Valley as the fires raged out of control. They were just two of the many families that were unable to spend Christmas in their own homes that year. Hughes, husband Russell Young, and children Dylan, Sadie, and Cash were able to stay with a friend before finding temporary housing in Los Angeles and was grateful for all the assistance in getting settled. “Thanks to Laura Wright (Carly) for driving my dogs down out of the smoke & Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden) for finding them a kennel,” she reported. “To all my friends who rallied around us, we felt loved. Thinking of the family who lost their firefighter in this battle. We are humbled, our hearts go out to you, please please accept our condolences.”

Throughout the ordeal, Hughes was very vocal online thanking all of the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to battle the out of control fires threatening Southern California. “To the 70-plus strike teams in our area alone fighting this monster, I can only humbly salute and thank you for your extraordinary bravery,” she declared at the time. “For God’s sake stay safe everyone. #thomasfire”

We’re happy that Hughes and her family had a house to come home to, even if it’s going to need a bit of work before it’s livable again. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster who are struggling to put their lives back together.
