GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Billy Miller Opens Up About the Childhood Illness That Left Him Hospitalized for Years
Jake and Spencer both received excellent care from Shriners Hospitals for Children on GENERAL HOSPITAL. But did you know that Billy Miller (Jason) saw more than his share of a children’s hospital back when he was a kid? The daytime hunk spent several years under the care of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children… and GH was there to help get him through it!
“I remember GH being on when I was laid up in the hospital, and even at home recuperating,” says Miller of his youthful days spent at the well-respected institution, adding that before the advent of cable, the viewing options were limited! “These days, there are choices. When I was a kid, we just got GH!”
That’s not the only way in which Jake’s hospital experience was different from Miller’s. Jake’s broken arm was repaired by implanting rods and if all goes well, it should heal rather quickly. Miller, in contrast, faced a more intense battle with a rare condition called tarsal coalition, which attacked the cartilage in his ankles.
