What Happened to Leslie Charleson on General Hospital?

Please join us in wishing Leslie Charleson (Monica, GENERAL HOSPITAL) a very speedy recovery! The actress was back in the hospital again on July 27 undergoing surgery. “Oops, I did it again!” she teased on her Facebook page. “Just a little hand sugery for a fracture that I got rescuing my tortoise off a hillside.”

Fans might recall this isn’t the first time that Charleson was injured due to her pets. Back in April of 2018, she fractured her hip after her dog, Riley Rose, knocked her over while rushing out of the house! That time, Monica was already written into episodes that Charleson was unable to perform in, so GH was forced to temporarily recast the role with Patty McCormack.

Thankfully, this time, that may not be necessary as the very next day, Charleson was all smiles at the GH Fan Club Weekend! “Had fun at Wally’s Legendary Bingo!” she said of Wally Kurth’s (Ned) fan event. “Best of all was seeing old friends Lesli Kay (ex-Lois) and Adrianne Leon (ex-Brook Lynn).” In the photo she snapped with her two former castmates, you can see Charleson’s bandaged hand, so clearly this particular surgery isn’t having as much impact on her daily life as the last one!
