Could Maxie and Michael Be GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Next Supercouple?

Tags:

Daytime fans are always playing matchmaker, never wanting any character to be single for too long. And a recent suggestion from viewers has them pairing up Maxie and Michael on GENERAL HOSPITAL. So let’s take a look and see why these two might just be a perfect match… or a perfect mess!

Neither Maxie Jones or Michael Corinthos has had the best of luck in the love department on GH. Maxie’s true love, Nathan West, was killed in the line of duty, and Michael lost poor Sabrina Santiago to a serial killer. And their recent relationships haven’t really worked out much better. Maxie found herself growing closer and closer to Peter August, but their friendship was derailed from going any further when she learned he was really Henrik Faison (and the one who brought his father, Cesar Faison, to town which led to him shooting Nathan dead!). Meanwhile, Michael fell for Nelle Benson, but the less said about that particular disaster, the better!

Michael and Maxie don’t usually interact all that much, but in the spring of 2018, the two bonded while she and Nelle were both pregnant. Without Nathan by her side, Maxie was going through her pregnancy on her own, and Michael bascially wanted nothing to do with Nelle, the mother of his child. He offered to attend Lamaze classes with her, but nothing really came of it. Maxie was too busy dealing with the birth of her son and the truth about Peter. Plus, Michael had his hands full with Nelle and her scheming to destroy his family. But the easy, natural chemistry between Kirsten Storms and Chad Duell sparked a desire in some fans to see the two paired together.

Sadly, Michael believes his son is dead thanks to Nelle’s baby switch with Brad, so playdates with Maxie’s son, James, are out of the question, at least for the time being. But perhaps Michael could find some comfort hanging out with Maxie and helping with James while everyone waits for the truth about the swap is revealed. Although the soap seems to be steering Maxie back into Peter’s orbit, and some fans would also like to see her paired with Chase, there’s a growing number of GH viewers who would like to see Maxie and Michael finally find some happiness, and suggest that the best way for them to do that is to fall in love with each other.

Maxie has definitely softened over the years, but she still has the fire and spunk to shake up Michael’s life in a way that Sabrina couldn’t (and in a much better way than Nelle did!). And Michael is a good, stable guy who can keep Maxie grounded but still be up for some fun in the same way Nathan was. Who knows — they could wind up being each others’ perfect match.

We’ll just have to stay tuned to see how their storylines play out, but we’ve certainly heard worse suggestions for pairings! For more GH news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
