Having played several daytime characters, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Michael Easton (Finn) can’t deny that PORT CHARLES’ Caleb ranks as a favorite. “The vampire was such freedom,” the actor raved to Soaps In Depth. “It’s the biggest sandbox I’ve ever played in because there are no rules. You can’t say, ‘Vampires wouldn’t do that.’ Who knows what a vampire would do? If he wanted to walk across someone’s couch, fine. He’s a vampire! It was good fun.”
Another thing Easton loved about Caleb was the bloodsucker’s singularity of purpose, something rather rare in daytime. “The nice thing about playing Caleb was that character only had one intention: He was in love with this girl and only wanted to be with her,” the actor reflected. That girl of Caleb’s obsession? Livvie, who was of course played by Easton’s current co-star, Kelly Monaco (Sam). “Anything that got in his way was just a deterrent to being with her,” explains Easton. “That was his one focus, and that was lovely to play.”
