GH's Steve Burton Reveals the Secret to His Successful Marriage

Jason Morgan’s love life has been full of nothing but drama on GENERAL HOSPITAL, which is par for the course since it’s a soap opera! But for actor Steve Burton, he has found eternal happiness with his gorgeous wife, Sheree, and their children. And he even confided the secret to their success!

“People think it’s the strangest thing,” Burton confided to Soaps In Depth, “but we’ve never really had a yelling, screaming fight. I made a decision, from the beginning, that I”m not going to be disrespectful. It’s a marriage, and when you say not-nice things, you can’t take them back.”

Of course, the loving husband admitted that over their 19 years of wedded bliss, there hasn’t been at least a few hiccups along the way. “Obviously, you can have disagreements,” Burton conceded. “You just have to be able to talk it out without getting angry. I’ve seen friends yell, and it’s ‘Oh gosh, we’ve gotta get out of here before they start killing each other!’ For some people, that works. We’ve just never done that.”

Respectful communication is key to the success of the Burtons’ marriage, but it also didn’t hurt when he took a break from Hollywood to spend more time with his family in Nashville last year before returning to work at GH. “I was home all day long, which was awesome because I love my wife,” Burton confessed with a grin. “Sheree’s the most amazing mom to my kids, Makena, 14, Jack, 11, and Brooklyn, 3. And an amazing partner. She’s an inspiration. I’m a lucky man.”
