GH Friday Recap: Guess Who’s Dying?!

Poor little Avery Corinthos was being yanked and tugged in every direction like a Stretch Armstrong doll. The good news for the cutie was that everyone wanted her — Sonny, Ava and Michael. Forget that we’re talking about a gangster, an assumed dead woman and a man using her for revenge.

After witnessing her own memorial service, Ava defied all logic by insisting on going on the run in the frigid New York weather with her bare-armed baby. Delia and Silas finally talked some sense into her, pointing out that a) there’d be a manhunt out for the baby’s kidnapper and b) when she was caught, it’d be back to a prison cell!

All that said, Ava and Silas returned empty-handed to her NYC hospital room, where she insisted on hiding out in Port Charles, close to her daughters. “Why can’t I think of a way out?” she wondered. “It wouldn’t matter even if you did think of something,” Silas answered. Ava turned and looked at him curiously. He continued, “You’re dying.” Say whaaaaaat?

Carly sensed something was off when they returned to Sonny’s house after the custody hearing. He made it clear that no way, no how was he going to let Michael raise his child. With that, he called Morgan and told him that a private plane was waiting for him, Kiki and Avery at the airport. It would take them to his island, where Michael couldn’t get his hands on Sonny’s daughter. Carly pointed out that he was making himself, as well as Morgan and Kiki, kidnappers! It didn’t matter to Sonny. He refused to surrender to Michael!

Meanwhile, Tracy told Michael how proud she was of him for pulling a few strings to get custody of Avery. Although he denied that he had anything to do with the judge swap, Tracy summed it up as “poetic justice.” While Alice prepped the mansion for the new baby, Michael went to Sonny’s with two U.S. marshals as backup. Once there, they realized Avery wasn’t! Michael cut right to the chase and ordered they arrest Sonny!

In Shadybrook, it was a battle of lethal cuckoo birds when a tightly wound Franco approached Luke, who was strapped in a bed and saying all sorts of nasty stuff about Franco’s dad, Scotty. Franco shut him up in true Franco fashion… by trying to smother him with a pillow! Nina barged in just to in time to prevent a fatality. Luke suggested they work together to bust out of the joint. Surprisingly, Franco loved the idea. Nina, not so much. But, we might add, he talked her into it!

Nathan walked in on Spinelli kissing Maxie but — according to Maxie — Maxie was not kissing him back. Spinelli begged to differ. Nathan was ready to pummel the Jackal but was interrupted by an alert on Spinelli’s computer that he got a hit on the whereabouts of Patricia Spencer! He ran out in a flash to tell Tracy, leaving a disappointed Nathan questioning Maxie if it was time to end their relationship!

Monday on GH, Silas has devastating news for Ava, Michael takes his vendetta one step further, and Nina and Franco find themselves in a very bad situation! Don’t forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
