Roger Howarth’s Franco does some seriously quirky things on GENERAL HOSPITAL — like that time he dropped a rhyming Dr. Seuss-style denial on Jason and Sam a few months back!
“When I read that, I thought, ‘There’s no way we can pull this off. It’s such a dare,’” Howarth recalls. “But then you just hold your nose and jump into the water. I actually think it turned out great!”
Franco’s eccentric nature can be a challenge to play, but the actor — who reflects on his character in the new issue of Soaps In Depth, on stands now — embraces the quirk. “It’s definitely intentionally written, and I think it’s fun,” Howarth says. “Our duty is to entertain. If we’re enjoying performing, then hopefully viewers enjoy watching it.”
