GH’s Christopher Explores His Heritage

Tags:

Shouting Secrets, a film starring GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) as a former football player who finds himself trapped in his Native American community while his estranged brother (The Twilight Saga‘s Chaske Spencer) finds success outside, is debuting Friday, September 5, at The Autry National Center in Los Angeles.

The screening will also mark the picture’s official DVD and VOD release. The slice-of-life drama is centered on the failing health of the brothers’ mother, which forces them to reconnect. “Tyler’s character resented his brother for writing a supposedly fictional book about them,” explains director Korinna Sehringer. “He also deals with some marriage troubles because he’s having an affair with a minor.”

For a soap star like Christopher, playing that kind of intense family drama in the film festival winner came easily. “[My character] struggles with [the affair] and the legal implications it comes with, as well as the embarrassment and shame to his wife and to his child,” the actor offers. “He’s trying to find ways to forgive himself and to get the relationship back with his wife he once had.”

The film also features Christopher’s former GH castmate, Ted King (ex-Alcazar). “Ted plays Dr. Matthews [the physician treating the brothers’ mother],” Sehringer reveals. “He’s in love with Caitlyn (Tonantzin Carmelo), the Native American doctor at the hospital.” Visit the film’s official site for more information or to order your copy.
