That’s OLTL Alum Mikey Jerome as Eddie on GENERAL HOSPITAL!

Eddie on GENERAL HOSPITAL may have looked familiar to fans who remember actor Mikey Jerome from his stint on ONE LIFE TO LIVE after winning the reality series I WANNA BE A SOAP STAR! “What a great time playing a scene with the great Maurice Benard (Sonny),” he shared on Instagram. “Thanks [GH executive producer] Frank Valentini and [casting director] Mark Teschner!”

Jerome appeared on season three of the SOAPnet reality series where contestants competed in acting challenges in the hopes of landing a role on a daytime drama. Coming out on top landed the aspiring performer a run on OLTL in 2006 playing the character of Ted Osbourne. Unfortunately, his character was one of Vincent Jones’ henchmen who set up Cristian Vega to lose a boxing match to help his boss score a quick buck. But this just got Ted beaten up by an angry Cristian and the thug later died in a warehouse fire after making just over a dozen appearances on the soap.

Valentini was executive producing OLTL during that time and it seems perhaps he remembered Jerome from back then and cast him in the role of Eddie, the guy who rescued Sonny and brought him to the hospital! And Jerome is hoping that maybe if fans let GH know how much they enjoyed the character of Eddie, he’ll be invited to come back again for more!

Eddie already helped Sonny by getting him out of the snow and warmed up in his car on the way to the hospital where he could be checked out. And since Eddie is literally the only person in town that Sonny knows due to his amnesia, you never know… he might just show up again to help the guy out some more!

Stay tuned to GH to see what happens!
