OLTL's Brittany Underwood Stars in 2nd Chance for Christmas

In a fresh new spin on the traditional A Christmas Carol, Brittany Underwood (Langston, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) stars as the prettiest Scrooge yet in the new holiday film 2nd Chance for Christmas! “It’s such a classic tale and told so many times, I loved this take on it being a pop star diva,” the actress declared to Soaps In Depth. “And I got to write a song for it, so that was cool. I have a Christmas song now!” The movie is out now on digital platforms like AppleTV and Amazon, and will also be available on DVD starting on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

In 2nd Chance for Christmas, Underwood plays spoiled celebrity musician Chance Love who is visited by a series of ghosts who attempt to get her to change her ways and embrace love, family, and the Christmas spirit. You’d be forgiven for not recognizing the ghost of her grandfather, but under all that special effects makeup is Mark McGrath! “I love him,” Underwood enthused. “It was cool that he played my grandfather. But I tell people that and they’re like, ‘What?!’ And I’m like, ‘No, a ghost of him. He’s not actually old enough to be my grandfather!'” The cast also includes Vivica A. Fox (ex-Stephanie, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS), Tara Reid, and Jim O’Heir (ex-Matt, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) among other familiar faces.

As she’s playing a musician, Underwood also sings the song “Home for Christmas” in the film, a tune the talented performer co-wrote herself! “I wrote this song with a dear friend of mine who I’ve written some music with before,” she revealed. “We had a lot of fun writing it. We kind of just started with Christmas themes in general and then we kind of went on being home for Christmas and it tied into the story so well. Because the story of her not going home for Christmas and choosing career over family but then realizing at the end of the day the true meaning of life and the value of the people that you love.

“I don’t think that’s ruining storyline,” Underwood added with a chuckle. “It’s a pretty popular story. I think it’ll be really fun, a Christmas story told in a different way.” Check out the trailer for 2nd Chance for Christmas below then click the links above to watch the entire movie!
