Patrick Gibbons Jr. Shares a Message for GH and OLTL Fans

Soap fans who remember watching Patrick Gibbons Jr. playing little Sam Manning on ONE LIFE TO LIVE when he was just a child might have been surprised to see just how grown up he is after his recent appearance on GENERAL HOSPITAL! In fact, he’s actually headed off to college in the fall!

Gibbons joined the cast of OLTL as Blair and Victor’s son, Samuel “Sam” Manning, back in 2010 and remained with the soap through to the end of its run and even appeared on its short-lived online revival in 2013. He was then tapped to play the role of Raging Raccoon scout Wyatt Hoover on GH in 2018. He’s made multiple appearances in the years that followed, the most recent being in the Aug. 22 episode. 

“Hello to GH and OLTL fans,” Gibbons tweeted after his episode aired. “Thanks so much for all the support since I first came into your living rooms as young Sam Manning in 2010. With this week’s GH ep, many have asked what I’m up to after graduating high school this May. I’m off to college at Penn State. See you next summer!”

His former TV sister, Kristen Alderson (Starr, ex-Kiki, GH) wished him well on the next chapter of his life. “Congratulations on Penn State!” she enthused. “That’s so exciting! Always happy to see you shine!” Gibbons was touched to still have her support. “Always so nice from the time I was five until 18,” he declared. “Lucky to have learned from the best! #TeamAlderson.”

Gibbons didn’t say what he would be majoring in at Penn State, but the young man has been studying guitar since he was 4 and also plays hockey (although not recently after breaking his leg in January).
