Soap fans are always double-checking the schedules during the holidays to see if their favorite daytime dramas are going to be on or not. And with Thanksgiving coming up, it’s only natural to be curious if the soaps will be airing. Since we don’t want you to miss a single brand-new episode, we’ve got the rundown on what GENERAL HOSPITAL, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and DAYS OF OUR LIVES have planned for the upcoming holiday!
Is GENERAL HOSPITAL going to be on Thanksgiving?
GH fans might feel a sense of deja vu if they tune in on Thursday, Nov. 25, because ABC will be airing an encore presentation of the Feb. 5 episode where Finn decided to run a DNA test to see if Chase was his brother or his son, Peter vowed revenge, and Lenny and Phyllis invited “Mike” to stay with them even as Nina called and heard Sonny’s voice on the phone! There will be no episode of GH — new or old — on Friday, as ABC will be airing NHL and college football.
Is THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL going to be on Thanksgiving?
CBS will be airing a rerun of B&B on Thanksgiving, but if you’d like to re-watch Steffy and Finn’s wedding and all the drama of Sheila crashing the party, this is your chance! And there will also be no new episode on Friday, Nov. 26 as the soap will be preempted for CBS Sports.
Is THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS going to be on Thanksgiving?
Just like its sister soap, Y&R will also be airing an encore episode on Thursday, and it’s another wedding, too! If you don’t have coverage of the Thanksgiving Day Parade airing in Y&R’s time slot, you’ll see a rerun of Ashland and Victoria’s nuptials. And like B&B, Y&R will also be taking Friday off as well, preempted for sports.
Is DAYS OF OUR LIVES going to be on Thanksgiving?
DAYS will be preempted on Thanksgiving Day, but you’re going to want to be sure to tune in on Friday, Nov. 26, because there will be a brand-new episode to watch! And with the devil still wreaking havoc in Salem, you won’t want to miss a single episode of the drama and excitement!
So enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner with family and loved ones, and get ready for the drama to pick up again on Monday, right where it left off! (Well, except for you DAYS fans since it’s back on Friday!) Oh, and be sure to double-check your DVRs because sometimes preemptions and holidays can throw a monkey wrench into their scheduled recordings! We don’t want you to miss a single episode!
