Update: ABC Confirms O’Hurley’s Casting
A source close to actor John O’Hurley tells Soaps In Depth that the star has booked a short arc on ALL MY CHILDREN, where he’ll be working opposite DANCING WITH THE STARS alum Susan Lucci (Erica).
Most recognized for playing Elaine’s boss, J. Peterman, on SEINFELD, O’Hurley has been steadily working as a voice-over artist for animated series in recent years, and also appeared on RETIRED AT 35, WIZARDS OF WAVELRY PLACE. While O’Hurley does have soap roles on LOVING, THE EDGE OF NIGHT, SANTA BARBARA, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, AS THE WORLD TURNS and GENERAL HOSPITAL — where he made a guest appearance as a cop in scenes with DANCING’s Season 1 competition Kelly Monaco (Sam) — on his resume, this will mark his first Pine Valley visit. While details surrounding O’Hurley’s character and storyline are scant at the moment, at least he’ll be working with a familiar face: He and Lucci played husband and wife in the television movie Blood On Her Hands.
UPDATE: ABC has issued a press release confirming what Soaps In Depth told you this morning: John O’Hurley will guest star on AMC this fall as Kit Sterling, a producer who approaches Erica to make a movie based on the book she’s written. The first of O’Hurley’s episodes is scheduled to air on Monday, September 12.
