What’s The Deal With Caleb?
As GENERAL HOSPITAL fans debate whether or not vampires have actually returned to Port Charles, we thought it might be helpful to fill folks on the backstory of Caleb Morley, whom Lucy Coe calls the king of the vampires!
On the GH spinoff PORT CHARLES, Lucy discovered she was a vampire slayer. Her nemesis? Caleb (played by Michael Easton), who caused all kinds of vampric trouble for the locals… including Dr. Eve Thornhart and her baby boy, who just happened to have the same name as does Sam McCall’s son, Daniel! Did we mention that Sam, as you may have gathered, happens to look exactly like Caleb’s true love, Livvie Locke?
As PC came to an end, the final of its telenovela-like arcs was called “The Gift.” In it, we learned that Caleb’s ring had the power to grant wishes. Livvie, knowing both that Caleb wanted nothing more than to have a child and that as a vampire he could never have one, wished for him to have one great night of passion that would result in a child. Shortly thereafter, Livvie got her wish… but not in the way she’d imagined! Instead of sharing that night of passion with — and impregnating — her, Caleb wound up bedding good-girl Alison Barrington!
In the final episode, shortly after taking Livvie as his bride, Caleb revealed to her that Alison — who at that moment was marrying Lucy’s cousin, Rafe Kovich — was pregnant with his child!
Now, it appears that Caleb has returned to Port Charles to kill Alison and reclaim his son, Rafe. For the shocking truth about this story — and details about its stunning climax — pick up the next ABC issue of Soaps In Depth, on sale Monday, February 18!
