Adam Huss on His Return to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Ava may have gotten quite a shock when Nikolas showed up unexpectedly on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the Jan. 3 episode, but many fans have been anticipating this moment for quite some time. At least ever since it was revealed that Ava hadn’t really killed her husband after all!
Actor Adam Huss is very excited to be back playing in Port Charles as the Cassadine prince and as reactions to his return spread across social media after the episode aired, he took to X/Twitter to declare: “So happy to be back and thanks for the love.
“As a TV fan myself,” he added in another post, “I know how important it is to honor the legacy of a character and will continue to do so as Nikolas from the great groundwork out there I get to study from.”
Huss first stepped into the role of Nikolas Cassadine back in September 2021 for an episode when portrayer Marcus Coloma was unavailable, and again for a week in November 2022. Then, when Coloma exited the soap in January 2023, Coloma returned to finish out Nikolas’ storyline.
Nikolas appeared to meet his end when Ava clocked him over the head for threatening to take Avery away from her, but it was soon revealed that he was being kept alive on life support by Mason Gatlin. Then, over the summer, it turned out that Austin, who had helped Ava dispose of Nik’s body, had really been in on it from the start!
Laura had been traveling all over Europe looking for her son, but Nikolas made sure he couldn’t be found while also making sure everyone knew he wasn’t dead. Ava naturally assumed that Nik was the one who had killed Austin and sent her threatening notes, but he claims that wasn’t him. Can she possibly trust anything he says now?
There’s no telling how long Huss will be back on GH this time, but there is plenty of story to tell with the character. Nikolas wants Ava to join him in making Esme pay for what she did to them both, but there are also lots of other people who will be affected by his return to Port Charles — especially his son, Spencer! So brace for plenty of drama ahead!
